Spell Check

Hi,

I am running Word 2000 on a laptop running Windows 2000
service pk 4. When I try to run spell check the
application does not open up. The blue at the top of the
screen flashes. If I open up the task manager & try to
close word the spell checker will open up.

I have tried reinstalling work but problem still exists.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Screen flashing problems in Word are often caused by the Norton AV Office
plug-in. Try disabling it.

Many thanks for your prompt reply. How do I go about
disabling the Norton AV Office plug-in. Do I need to
disable Norton AV completely?

Copied from Susan Barnhill's response to an identical question posted here
yesterday:

1. Open Norton AntiVirus (right-click on the Taskbar icon and choose this
option).

2. Click on the Options button at the top of the dialog.

3. In the Options dialog, click on Miscellaneous (menu on the left)

4. Clear the check box for "Enable Office Plug-in."
