Spell checker error in Outlook

One of our end users has W2K/Outlook 2000 with Office SP3
and is receiving an error when trying to use the Spell
Checker in Outlook "Error Occurred While Checking
Spelling". We have already tried MS Article 241485 and it
did not resolve the problem. It happens on any pc he logs
onto. Have also uninstalled and reinstalled the entire
Office Suite. Same results. Would this be profile
related? Suggestions? Help....

I ended solving this problem and thought I would share the
solution.
In order for Outlook's spell checking to work, the custom
dictionary in WORD must be set to something (either the
default CUSTOM.DIC) or another .DIC file that user has. If
it's not set to anything, Outlook's spell cheking will
fail. Outlook uses that file to engage it for spell
checking use.
