Spell checker on a protectd form

Ok lets try this again
I have created a form using WORD and a table and protected
the document so it can only be modified in the text boxes.
The problem I have is that when someone else inters text
into the text boxes they can not run the spell checker
unless I unprotect the whole document. So my question is
how can I lock down the form and only allow text in the
text boxes. And still let spell checker run on those text
boxes. Or is there a better way to do this?

Hi,

Based on my research, it is by design that the form field is set to not
using proofing tools. Also, after we protected the form by hitting the
"Protect From" button on the "Forms" toolbar, we are not able to check the
spelling and grammar. The only way for us is to unprotect the form.

1) Unlock form.

2) Press Ctrl+A.

3) Go to Tools - Language- set language.

4) Clear the check box for "Do not check spelling or grammar errors"

5) Run Spell check

6) Re-protect form.

Sincerely,

Arnold Gao

Ok so I can't do it with WORD.

The other part of my question was "Is there a better way
to do this?

I realy would like to be able to lock down the form
(because about ½ the time they end up editing the form
instead of the text boxes) and let them only have access
to the text boxes and be able to run spell checker on
those boxes.

So is there a different product or method that will let me
do this?

Hi,

I am afraid so far there's no better way than what I had suggested in my
last post.

In addition, your request is a great idea for a future product enhancement.
I'd recommend that you forward the recommendation to the Microsoft Wish
Program:

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!
