spell checker

i'm running office 2004 and panther. old documents and new documents
are fine, however i am writing a coursework and it won't spell check or
grammar check. this is a problem i need resolving quickly as i have a
deadline to meet. it says something about some of the text being set to
no proofing although i haven't done this. also, when following
instructions to correct this, it has no affect. i have tried pasting
the text into a new document and using destination formatting but still
it won't use spell check. need help, anyone out there who can, thank
you...

Assuming the entire document is written in one language, select the entire
document (cmd-a). Go to Tools | Language. Choose the language you want the
spellcheck to use. If using Word 2004, make sure the "do not check spelling
and grammar" checkbox is completely clear (no line, no check). Hit OK.

i have to give a big thank you. the help hints were to go edit -
replace, which just wasn't working. thank you very much for that
although i have to be quite pleased, 2300 words, and only 10 errors.
