Spell Checking and Basic Formatting in Word 2002 Templates

How do you enable spell checking and using the formating
toolbar in a locked word 2002 template? I have got
templates built and have to have them locked so that
other formating (changing indentations, spacing) can't be
done, but now am unable to run spell check while the form
is locked, as well as boldfacing and underscoring.

Anyone know how to resolve this, (besides of course
unlocking the form)
