Spell checking in X64 Outlook Express to work with Office2000

what gives? why can I use an outlook version that is installed on another
hard drive for a 32 bit Xp whilst the defualt outlooks express for X64 gives
me crud by not able to spell check!?

Is there an update that I have missed?

Note that this is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.
