Spell checking no "proofing error"

I tried to download a document to my mac word that was a .docx file
and now the spell checker on my word is giving me the following error
message: "The spelling and grammar check is complete. Text set to
(no proofing) was skipped. To find (no proofing) text, click Edit/
Replace, click More, click Format, click Language and choose (no
proofing). " I did follow the directions however it is not turning my
spell checker back on. This is now affecting all new documents
thatI try to open.

Does anyone know how to repair this issue? Please

I have a mac I book G3 and I am using office 2004 my word version is
11.5.0

That manoeuvre will not turn the spell checker back on, because it already
is on. If the spell checker was turned off, you would not see the error.

However, the text in your documents has been set to "No Proofing" which
means the spelling checker is skipping it.

You need to find the text that is set that way, and work out how it came to
be set that way.

Use Format>Language to set the spelling language for text. On that dialog,
one option is "Do not check spelling or grammar".

That's what it means by "no proofing".

If you have set that in your Normal template, every document you create will
now be set that way.

Cheers
