That would be grammar, not spelling - and these days the common convention
is one, not two.

That's a function of grammar checking. You haven't specified your version of
Word, but you should see an option in this location: Tools > Options >
Spelling and Grammar > Settings [button] > Require : spaces required between
sentences.

It's found in the spell check, thus I referred to it that way.
Perhaps where you are, 1 space is a convention. That is not the case
universally and where certain style manuals are required, such as the
Government Style Manual. So, I suppose the answer is NO, one can't
get the punctuation "checker," not grammar, to detect the lack of 2
spaces.
