spellcheck and possessive forms

Our office has recently migrated from Office 2k to Office 2003. Whenever I
type a possessive requiring an apostrophe, such as "test's," as in "the
test's results," spellcheck offers several possibilities, none of which is
correct. It offered tests, test 's, test' s, but it would not accept test's
as correct. Is there a fix for this other than to just add it to the
dictionary?

thanks in advance

I'm not seeing that problem in Word 2003 here. Are you sure the character
you're using for an apostrophe is an apostrophe character from the default
paragraph font and not, say, a symbol from the WP Typographic Symbols font?

Yes, it's an apostrophe in Times New Roman.
