Spellcheck failure Outlook 2003

I have checked the box for "Always suggest replacements for misspelled words"
in Options/Spelling, but the spell-check ignores every incorrect spelling. I
have tried to copy paste email text into Word and re-check, but Word will
also ignore spelling mistakes. However, if I create the text in Word from
scratch, the spell-check finds all errors.
Can anyone help?

Thanks Diane, that has revealed the problem.
When I r-click the context menu it shows my signature selected and I have
found that any typing in this area is not spell-checked. There is a large
space included above my signature file and if I start typing in this area the
text is not spell-checked. However, if I start typing right at the top of
page away from the blank space in the signature, all text is spell-checked
just fine.

I'm having a similar problem with Outlook 2003, but when I right click on the
offending word as Diane suggested, a small menu pops up that says "Template
(or) E-mail Signature". Mine is set to 'template', and it still wont spell
check anything anymore (it used to check even my template). Any ideas?
