Spellcheck/grammar files missing in Word 2000

I seem to have lost the capability for spellcheck and grammar tools both
while I am typing a Word 2000 doc as well as if I select a portion of text
and request spellcheck afterward. We've already tried re-installing Word
with no luck. I get an error message telling me files (spell and grammar)
are missing. It was working fine at the beginning of a very long document
the other day, but l lost the capability as if it just vanished. No warning
messages, no weird downloaded software, etc. Any ideas? Thanks!

You'll do better to ask in a WinWord group - this one's for Mac
