Spellcheck in Word freezes

Hi, I'm having this problem on several machines. When the
user runs spell check, Word freezes and they're having to
end task to get back to Windows. Is there a quick fix for
this? I've uninstalled and reinstalled Office XP Pro so
many times, and that does nothing to help the problem.

Re-installing rarely does anything useful.
