spellcheck tab is grey

When I go to the spelling tab under options it is greyed out completely
and I cannot run a spellcheck. I have heard this might have something to do
with Access, but I don't even have that installed. The spelling tab is greyed
out
in Word and Outlook Express, too. Any ideas? I'm going crazy trying
to fix this issue.

I'm not completely sure of the answer to your problem but I can tell you it
definitely does not have anything to do with Access. What happens if you
Spellcheck by pressing the F7 button?

A wise question! I get an error message: word cannot find the spelling file
MSSpell3.dll or mssp232.dll
So I guess that means something is fubar. But how is this fixed?
