I can't add names or those not real words I like to use. I have to keep hitting ignore. I tried reinstalling from the disk but it still does not work.

Hi,

You have to enable the custom dictionary before you can add words to it.

1. Go to Word Preferences
2. Click Spelling & Grammar
3. Click the Dictionaries button
4. Click the checkbox next to Custom Dictionary
5. Click OK to close the Custom Dictionaries dialog box
6. Click OK to close the spelling and grammar dialog box

There is a complete discussion explaining dictionaries in the Office
2008 for Mac All-in-One For Dummies book.
