Spelling errors in Word in a Spanish doc

I do a lot of bilingual documents. English is fine, but Spell checking in
Spanish is a problem! It'll miss obvious errors! For example, I'll put l
casa instead of la casa and l is NOT a word; yet, it will not be questioned
or corrected! Can anyone help me?

Word doesn't correct individual letters in any language because the alphabet
can be used for "numbering," and letters can be used as words.

Suzanne:

Thanks for your response, but the "l casa" was just an example. I have lots
of others that are not marked or corrected. I can deliberately misspell
words in Spanish and the spell checker will not catch them! Also, it misses
the need for accent marks frequently. Can you or someone else help?

Thanks.

Try pressing Ctrl+A to select all of the text, and then click on
Tools | Language | Set Language | uncheck the "Do not check
spelling or grammar" box | OK. Then press F7 to rerun spellcheck.

And of course make sure that the proper flavor of Spanish is selected as the
correct language (and clear the check box for "Detect language
automatically," which isn't very dependable).
