I do what is told here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/onenote/HA101778331033.aspx

so I write in the run window
"d:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12" /nologo

(yes it is d drive)

I press ok and i dont recieve any warning or invalid message.
But when I click the ON icon on the task bar i still get the splash
screen????

Naturally so: The command behind the icon does not have the parameter
"/nologo".
The option to not see the logo only works when directly calling ON.

I see what exciter means.

I've just tried "c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\ONENOTE.EXE"
/nologo and I still see the splash screen.

The command behind the icon?
What does this mean?

I type "d:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12" /nologo in the run box
press ok
but i still see the splash screen when I call ON from the taskbar icon.

So you say that there is no way to egt rid of the splash screen when calling
ON from the task bar?

When clicking in an icon, a command is fired.
I type "d:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12" /nologo in the
run box press ok but i still see the splash screen when I call
ON from the taskbar icon.

In the "Run" box you enter the command with the parameter. The icon does
not know that you want that it fires the command with the icon too.
So you say that there is no way to egt rid of the splash screen

Yes, that's what I'm saying.
And me thinks that it's not a big problem worth worrying about.

And me thinks that it's not a big problem worth worrying about.

If sth is worth worrying is a subjective assessment.
I do.
As my comp is not the fastest, I gain some efficiency by avoiding a useless
splash screen.
I also think that it does not make sense to have a splash screen.
What is it for?
Has no use....

Everybody to its taste ;-) (chacun à son gôut / suum cuique).
But is just a subjective impression. The splash screen does not make the
start-up slower at all - not even for the fraction of a second! It's
shown whilst ON is loading and disappears automatically.

I agree. AFAICS splash screens are just left-overs from the old days
when computers were really slow. In these days it was of use for the
user to immediately be presented a reaction of the program visualizing
that it has begun working. As the loading of programs was slooooow only
too often users clicked again and again because they did not see
anything happening and accidentally happening of several instances of a
program being started was a problem. Not so nowadays. But the tradition
that each application shows that it was launched has remained.
