Does anyone know if/how I can diable the splace screens in the office
applications?

For Word and PowerPoint you can:

In Word, you can do it by creating a shortcut for starting Word, and add the
/q switch after "...winword.exe".

For PowerPoint, use /splash.

For Excel, you can use /e (this stops the splash screen, but also prevents
it from opening a blank workbook).

I don't know about the others.

I was hoping to stop the splash screen in Outlook 2007. If you come across
anything I would be most appreciative. Thanks again.

Hi Edward,

I don't recall that Outlook has a Command Line switch for that (link covers the usual ones)
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP012185891033.aspx?pid=CH100788811033
but you may want to use the link below to also post in the Outlook discussion group as there may be a different customization
method.

Disabling the splash screens generally doesn't change the startup time for the apps.
