Hi Bill,

You can suppress the Splash Screens in Office XP. Use the following:

winword /q
excel /e
powerpnt /s

Note the switch for Excel will also suppress a blank workbook and I
don't know of one for Access.

Hi Bill,

Sorry - create new shortcuts to the executables and add the switch at
the end. For example:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\winword.exe" /q
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\excel.exe" /e
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\powerpnt.exe" /s

Use the command path to where the executables are stored on your
computer and note the space before the switch.

To create a shortcut, either right-click the Desktop and select
New/Shortcut or you can use Search to locate the executables. When
found you can right-drag them to a location of your choice, such as
the Start Menu or Desktop, and select "Create Shortcut Here". Then
right-click the shortcut and add a space and the appropriate switch at
the end.
