Split Bars for Portfolio View

I have a single Gantt plan showing proposed 2007 projects as single task bars
eg starting in jan 07 and continuing upto dec 07.

Can I somehow format the task bar into segments so as to show different
colors for how far ahead the associated demand is baselined, ballparked or
conceptual.

This would mean I would still have 1 single task bar per project but it
would split into 3 different colors?
