Split Database, Invoice Module and Payroll Module, (2) Instances of Access, Good,Bad ?

I have a split database with an Invoice Module and a Payroll Module.
My question is this, are there any concerns about running two instanve of
Access, like if they open the Invoice and the Payroll Module at the same
time.
They are both using the same tables of course but I really have no
experience with this. Right now this is a non-network environment, but will
change at some point. I am not using locks at this point. Looking for
suggestions and ideas.
