In Access 2007 I created a very small table, a few text fields, couple combo
boxes, one checkbox. I then split the database, using the wizard, and put
the back end on a wide open network share, using a UNC, not a mapped drive.
At the front end, I have the table, a data entry form, and a Report. This is
a very simple database. I saved the front end as accde file and put it on 3
user machines. The form works fine on one machine. On two other machines,
when trying to enter the data in the form I get a "recordset is not
updateable" message. All machines are XP sp3, Office 2007 sp2. Initially I
couldnt even open the forms on the two other machines, but somehow that got
corrected. I even deleted the whole database and remade it and still get the
same problem. It could be my limited knowledge of Access, but as far as I can
tell I have done everything by the book. Why would it work on my machine and
another, but not two other machines.
Any ideas on what might be wrong? Thank you in advance.
