Split database- Where are the links stored?

BlankWhere is the table data linkage information stored when I split my database?

I split my database and everything looks OK, but I can't explicitly prove where the data is when my app runs.
You see, my front end db crashed and became corrupted right ant the end of the splitting process (after I got the message that the split was successful). So I built a new blank database, imported everything from the old database. The new db seems to work ok, but I'm not sure where it is storing the data in the tables...in the new db or in the back end db like it should.

I know that I can run a test, but I'd just like to be sure what Access 'thinks' it is doing.

Thanks

BlankHi Jim,

Answering the question you stated on the subject line - the link information (i.e. filename, table location, table name) is stored in the front end. This information is used as some kind of a pointer (a shortcut, if you will).

After reading through your message, however, you appear to be wondering how you can tell whether a table is a linked table or a local table. A linked table appears with a thick arrow on the database window.

BlankThanks Immanuel;
Looking at the properties of the tables with a thick arrow, I discovered the "Link Table Manager". Popping that open I can see the pathnames of all the linked tables. Just what I wanted.

Thanks
