Split database with password won't relink

Hello All
I have aa Access 2000 database which has been split. The
back-end bit has a password to prevent other applications
(e.g. Excel) reading the tables.

The problem is that the front-end cannot relink to the
back-end due to invalid password.

Any ideas on how to get round this?

There are no users or groups involved.

Many thanks

You should be able to use the Linked Table Manager (in Tools, Database
Utilities). Put a check in the 'Prompt for new location'. Then locate the
backend and put in the password when prompted. The password will be stored
in the links.

Many thanks for your help Joan.

Unfortunately, when requesting for the new location, No
password is requested - it just returns with 'Invalid
Password'. Am I missing something or have I got a wrong
setting somewhere.

I am running with Access 2000 format files on Access 2002
using Windows XP Professional.

Any further help is greatly appreciated.

Eureka!

The expected relink asking for the password still does
not work. However, by trial and error, I found that by
deleting all the linked Tables in the front-end and then
creating a new Linked Table it asked for a password to
the back-end. All fixed.

Many thanks Joan for pushing me in the right direction.
