Split legend in a pie chart

Hello,

How do I split the legend key, in a pie chart. There are
17 items which has text.

Click on the legend, and you'll see a black square (handle) in each
corner, and one in the middle of each side.

Point to one of the corner handles, and drag up and out, to make the
legend shorter and wider.

This will adjust the size of the legend, and the placement of the legend
text.

As a possibility, maybe a pie chart is not the best way to display this data ?
