Split symbols

Hi, Does anyone have any experience of misbehaving split
symbols? For example a task is found running late but
preceded by a split line. The total duration now includes
the split and the task. I have also found tasks with split
lines after task finish, again delaying subsequent tasks.

At no time have we inserted these split lines, which are
normally used within tasks. they seem to appear at random
but have dire effects on the programme.
Our technical guys ar baffled, but I have seen the same
thing in both MSP 2000 and 2002.

Jim:

Chances are someone is using leveling either automatically or manually. This
will create splits in tasks that are incomplete and past due. This is not a
question for technical folks, unless they're also very experienced project
managers and knowledgeable on the tool.
