Split task problem

Project split a task, keeping the completed portion at the original
date and moving the incomplete portion to a later date when I created
a link with another task. It pushed the imcomplete portion too far
forward in time, and when I reduced the lag time in the link, it
pulled the blue bar back, but left a trail of blue dots, like in a
split task, going forward to the old completion date, even though it
doesn't show and of the task bar there. It still shows the finish of
the task where the trail of dots ends. I want the task to finish where
the blue bar ends. How to I clean up the trail of dots and correct the
finish date?

Hi Dave,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I can't reproduce this problem. I suspect that I don't know exactly what
you're doing. Could you be more specific on what you are doing and trying
to achieve? If necessary, you could email me a zipped file of that part of
the project and I'll have a look.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :))
