Split tasks and format bar

Good morning:

I'm using MS Project 2002 and I had to split a task in 2.
Now here the question .... On the Gantt chart, is it
possible to have half of the task a color and the other
half another color?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

No it is not. Sorry.

You can have the completed work a different color however by creating
another barstyle (format menu/barstyles)
which goes from start to complete through and which is a different color
than the default bar.
