split tasks with ea section a different color

Within a task, I'm trying to remember how to split a task into 3 or 4 pieces
and make each piece a different color.

Hi,

To split just right-click the bar and click Split Task. Then drag the bit
you want to split to the right. I don't think you can color each part
differently. If you really need different colors for different parts of a a
bar you need to create a summary task, roll the task s up (see Help) and
then use Flag fields to allow for automatic coloring of each part or
manually color them.
