Splitting a sescured database

I have what is hopefully an easy question. I have an
application with security measures in place already on a
user basis. I was wondering if I split this database into
a backend and front end if my security settings would
still be effective the way they are.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

No, you will need to secure the tables in the backend using the same
workgroup information file.
