Splitting linked databases

Hi there,

I have 3 databases, one for Customer relationship management, on
containing detailed product information (will be quite large...) an
one for processing orders.

All three need to be linked.

My question:
Would it be better to link the tables after I've split the databas
into FE/BE, and is it possible at all?
I've copied them and done an experimental link, the tried to split the
and it didn't like it at all...
