splitting portions of footer left and right

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

Greetings all!

Has anyone figured out a way to split information left and right on the same footer line? For example, a page number to the right and a file name to the left? This was very straightforward in the previous version but in 2008, I am lost!

Funny, it should be straightforward in this version too, hasn't changed.
View Header/Footer, type your stuff at the left, hit tab once to go to
the center, than tab again to type right-aligned text.

Incidentally, don't use Insert | Page Number. View the Header/Footer,
then use the button on the Formatting Palette to add the page number
where you want it.
