Try the Text-to-Columns function. You'll find it under
Data. Highlight the cells you want to split and choose
that function. It will give you the option of splitting
at a space or putting in a manual split. Beware that if
you have a column immediately to the right of your target
column, it will overwrite that when it splits. Best to
insert a couple of blank columns before running it.
Also, please note that John Smith will go into two
columns but John Smith, Jr. will go into three.
