Splitting Tasks

I can split a task so that I can see the split in a
Tracking Gantt, but I can't see the split in the Gantt
Chart. I've read all the help and haven't found anything.
I've split tasks before in Project 97 without any problem.
I'm using Project 2000 so I hope that it still has this
feature. Nothing in the documentation indicates that it
has changed.

Any ideas or sugestions?!?

Hi Byron

the behaviour of your project file in this regard doesn't make any sense to
me at all - as each view shows the same data but just from a different
aspect - it's not a timescale / zoom problem is it?

however, i've always found that using the split tasks icon quite annoying so
i use the task usage view when i want to split tasks - manually adjust the
work hours to when i need the work to be performed.

You might like to try splitting the task this way and see if it solves your
problem.

I have found exactly the same problem in Project Standard
2003. Using a normal Gantt chart I can't see the split and
it's driving me nuts.

And I just found the solution:
Format -> Layout -> Tick the box next to "Show bar splits"

want it?!?)
