Spooler Error while trying to transfer ownership

Hello all,

I have yet another spooler error issue and this time it is really
wierd. When I transfer ownership of a project currently owned by
another PM to myself, one particular resource's tasks don't get
transfered. I get a spooler error (publish new and changed
assi.....system error). All other resources' tasks have me as the owner
and I get updates from them except for this one resource whose updates
go to the old PM. Retry throws the error again and undo doesn't seem to
do anything.

I have seen this issue off and on on different projects and have not
been able to resolve it. I have project 2003 SP2 but not the server SP2
yet. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It would help if we knew what Spooler error you are seeing. If it is the
dreaded "Manager cannot create the resource account..." error, then refer to
the following FAQ:

Otherwise, let us know which Spooler error you are seeing.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. It is not a local resoucre issue.
The error says "Publish new and changed asignments", system error,
0x80004005.

Hi Dale,

I cut those tasks, pasted them again, republished new and changed
assignemnts with overwrite actuals. This seems to have taken care of
theb spooler error but left some orphan tasks in the resource's time
sheet.

This is probably a work around solution, I would really like to know
the cause, since this problem happens pretty often.
Also, I read somewhere that if all users do not have the same Service
Pack version, it creates issues like mine here. If that is really true
then, it could be the cause because we have about 50 Project pro users
and they are not consistent on the SP. Your thoughts......
