SPOOLSV goes crazy when opening a document

Hi,

We have a problem on Win2k pro and NT4 machines, when we open a word
document the spoolsv process/service starts eating processor time and locks
everything up, if we stop the spooler service then the word document works
fine but obviously we can't print. Does anyone have any ideas what is
happening or how to fix this?
