spreadsheet hanging

when I open a particular spreadsheet it (not always) won`t open but just
`hangs` there if I then use ctrl/Alt/delete and close it then reopen this
allows it to open.There are no complicated formulas or (as far as I am aware)
any links to elswhere in the computer and it is only about 60K in size.It
previously worked ok.All other s.sheets open ok
Any ideas on what to check or how to cure?

You might have a corrupt file. Suggest you copy the contents of your
worksheets into a new Excel file and use that.
