Hi All
I flattened by previous attempt to setup a standalone version of MS Project
Server 2007 and started again. I re-installed Windows Server 2003 by
reformatting the HD, applied updates, enabled IIS, applied the updates (.Net
2.0/3.0), allowed .Net in IIS, applied more updates (groan) and installed SQL
Server 2005. However, I didn't check as this previous installation of SQL
2005 went according to plan.
I've just finished and decided to check SQL and found SQL Server Management
Console is missing and I only have the configurations tools. I installed SQL
immediately after my WS2003 installation. I've read a couple of articles but
none that apply to my scenario. They suggest that if a previous version of
the SQL or an Express version is already installed then this problem may
occur. But I don't have any of these scenarios as a rebuilt my PC from the
ground up.
Questions:
1. Can anyone offer some insights on what's happened to SQL Server
Management Console?
2. What is the URL for the Windows discussions groups relating to Server
Technologies?
This is so annoying! LOL - I blame the workmen and not the tools <DOH>
Thanks in advance to all who respond - when its all up & running, I'll laugh
about this <hopefully>
Regards,
Hardip
