SQL and Access

BLawson

I am presently an Access developer and want to learn SQL
server so I can revise and upgrade Access databases to run
with SQL. I understand SQL server will install and run
under windows XP with only one client which is all I would
need to learn and test it. Is that good enough or do I
need to buy a small server and install SQL server on that
in order to adequately learn how SQL and Access work
together in a cleint/server situation?

there is a developper's edition specially made for ... developpers
this runs on whatever OS, NT is preferred, either NT5 or XP,
Win95, 98, 98Se and NT4 lack some functionality

this version is on the Office Developpers edition

you could also use MSDE and manage it with the cliënt tools for SQL server

bon chance
