Sql server 2005 analysis filter unable to retrieve data

When I try to open excel file use .ODC connection file in sharepoint it opens
up fine but when I use the same ODC file to connect to SQL server 2005
analysis filter web part it gives error "An error occured while retrieving
filter values (the connection either timed out or was lost.)."

Increase the time out parameter of your connection, with the goal of
eliminating it from the scenerio.

If you still have a problem with the connection time out parameter very
large, try another method like SQL Direct, if this does work and the other
connection does not, it might be a connection string thing. missing parameter
for your setup to the server, security, authentication,, let's see what
happens when you increse the time out .

Have you tried to retreive the filter values with another method?
