SQL Server and Project Server

Jack

I have setup project Server 2003 and SQL server 2000 on same machine. The
company users want to access the project by using Project Professional 2003
both via intranet ant extranet. The problem is when users try to access it
via company's VPN, I need to change SQL server's IP as internal IP. When
users try to access it via extranet, I need to change SQL server's IP as
external IP. How can I make things work letting users access project both
from intranet and extranet without switch SQL server's IP?

Thanks for any reply

Christian,
Thank you very much for reply.
I think your suggestion about treat "the server as external server in your
VPN" make sense. I will try that.

I appreciate that.
By the way, is there any other solution that I can secure my SQL server
without open port for extranet.

Thanks

Jack:

You simply shouldn't even consider using Project across the Internet or any
other high-latency, low bandwidth connection. It doesn't fly, and it's not
securable. Use a terminal services or Citrix server for this purpose. If you
want to expose Project Web Access, build a second front end located in your
DMZ or outside your firewall using SSL and basic auth.

Gary:
Thank you very much for your secure warning. I should talk to company
network admin.

Have a good day.
