SQL Server error (?) when trying to save enterprise projects

I get this error when trying to save an enterprise project to Project Server
2003 in Project Pro 2003, even on an admin account.

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]SELECT permission denied on
object 'MSP_PROJECTS', database 'ProjectServer', owner 'dbo'.

Im using SQL server 2000, Project Server 2003, Project Pro 2003, SharePoint
Portal Server 2003.

I couldnt even access any enterprise features until recently as I had some
unknown problem. so I decided to start from scratch! installed Win Server
2003 Standard > SQL Server 2000 + SP3a > SharePoint Portal Server 2003 >
Project Server 2003.

I followed details I found on the microsoft website, KB's and the various
guides. I've reinstalled several times already:s this is the latest problem
Im faced with! Rather unnerving when things dont work after you follow
instructions, over and over again!
