SQL Table errors when saving a specific project plan.

I received the following error when I tried to save a specific project plan
(about 800 tasks)

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Index "??funny characters??"
on table "MSP_PROJECTS (specified in the FROM clause) does not exist.

We could not save the project on this occassion (we were able to save it
later).

Doe anyone have any idea what this error is?

Is there any way to check to see if the MS Project databases are okay - can
you run some sort of an integrity check on them?

I just want to avoid any possible data corruption in these SQL tables.
