Square boxes in place of text

I have word 2000 Sp3, OS Win XP Home, allways use fonts in program. some doc
are OK some are
not. changing font only changes shape of box or square. tryed opening in
wordpad same thing square in place of text.

Hi Dad:

You're missing a font

Select some of the square boxes, then look where it says "Font" and read the
name of the font.

You either need to purchase and install the font, or change the text to a
font that you do have.

Try Tools>Options>Compatibility>Font Substitution... It may tell you there
which font it needs and it may suggest a replacement from among the fonts
you do have.
