sr-1 update for Access 2000

Phil

Hi,
I'm trying to install the o2ksr1a.exe update (I'm told the update might
solve a problem I'm having with my Access 2000). My problem is that the
update is asking for the Office 2000 Premium disk. I don't have 2000 Premium
and never have had it. I have 2000 Professional. It's looking for the
DATA1.MSI folder which is on my Professional disk, but it won't take it.
What can I do??????

Thanks in advance,

Hi, Phil,

Check in the Windows Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs applet and see what
Office versions are installed. You may need to uninstall Premium (and
re-installing with your Pro disks wouldn't hurt).

Office Update reads the same info in Add/Remove Programs to see what Office
applications are installed, and it tries to update them accordingly.

Hi Susan,
My mistake. I do have Premium. In looking at what I has installed I
noticed my Office 2000 Developer. I dug out the cd and the 2000 Developer
included Office 2000 Premium. Do you know of any reason why I can't delete
the 2000 Professional?

thanks,

You need the CD to uninstall. Put it in and select the Remove option. It will look as if it is installing but in actuality it is uninstalling.
