Sr1a for Office 2000 won't complete download-tried 3 days & nights straight

I ordered the CD for SR3--which Microsoft states contains
SRla--but that was a lie--it only contains a link to the
site to download the first service release. I've only
got dial-up & have kept my phone tied up for three days &
nights STRAIGHT--the download will not complete due my
phone disconnecting after long periods of time. My
problem is that the download will not allow me to 'break
it up into manageable increments--rather it tries to
include both CD's of Office 2000 SBEdition--this is
driving me crazy. I cannot contact MS for help without
paying--because they say I have used up my free support.
What a way to force people to eventually shell out for a
new version of Office. Anyone got any ideas??

I also have this prblem with downloading. Download Managers don't help as the update runs from a self extractor. I don't have enough technical knowhow to solve the the problem, but I am going to pursue my internet service provider with regarrd to the constant disconnecttion after 2 hours of downloading!!! NB can't afford broadband or expensive support options. (Sob Sob) Can anyone provide some advice?
