You likely have SR-1 already installed. SR-1a is identical to SR-1 except
for a modification to the installer to fix some installation problems on
some systems.

Open any Office application and go to Help, About. If Help, About shows
SR-1, then you have it installed.

Ignore the confusing Microsoft SR-1a note and select the updates you need.

install any other office updates

Did you check your Office applications to see if you have SR-1 installed?

Either SR-1 or SR-1a installed will allow you to install subsequent updates
that Microsoft states require SR-1a.
