Stability problems

Dear all,

I am using Office 2004. After having installed the latest service
pack, I have stability problems with Word and Powerpoint. Especially
larger files give problems. The applications either quit, freeze on
opening up the documents, or I get a error "disk full" upon attempting
to save my documents. If I open the identical documents with Office X
it is ok. Does anyone else experience such problems?

My configurations: G4 or G5, lots of free RAM and disk spce, OX 10.3
latest version and updates.

Run a Disk Utility "Repair Permissions" and see if that helps.

The disk may be more or less full. How much free diskspace do you have? My
recommendation is that no disk should be more than 80% full. You may want to
run a defragmentation program if your disk is pretty full. However, in this
case, I think the document may be corrupt. open the documents that are
problematic one by one and save them under a new name. This will effectively
force Office to create a file from scratch. Hopefully, these new documents
will not be corrupt. Make sure you close down old documents before you open
new ones. The "disk full error often means that Office couldn't save the
file successfully.
