I am building an application in Access 2000 that includes so far 10
databases and various report and query functions.
It has been suggested to be that for distribution, I would make more
if I converted it to a stand alone aplication. So I did some reading
and still don't have any answers.
IF I am understanding this correctly, I need a Developer's Edition of
Access 2000 to do the conversion. Of course, checking Microsoft's site
I found nothing but the current 2003 products.
This product will be distributed to people that have a wide range of
computers. Everything from Windows 3.1 up to XP may be included.
Thus I want to keep it as "middle of the road" as possible in order to
facilitate as many users as possible.
Yes, I have considered doing the project in Visual Basic. I don't code
easily so that attempt died a very early death. Thus the use of Access
instead. For me, it was much easier to use and complete.
I'm assuming that the developer version of Access 2000 is available on
Ebay or somewhere. Once I have that, will an end product run on XP or
am I going to have to release two versions. My cash flow is extremely
limited and this project is for a hobby so it is probably not going to
be a big money maker. Though other things I have in mind might be more
lucrative.
I look forward to your kind relplies.
