Stand alone document management

I have a project where I am creating and distributing Standard Operating
Procedures for users in 5 standalone locations. We anticipate that we will
provide a web based db system in about a year, but in the meantime we want to
provide a controlled system where users can have easy access to find docs
with read-only access on their standalone PCs. The SOP team will have the
responsibility of updating these PCs with new docs when applicable.

Any ideas about standalone document management systems that can eventually
migrate to a centralized system would be appreciated.

Hello

Did you try Using Sharepoint server. You can save the forms to Server and
can migrate whereever you want later. If you are using Infopath 2007, then
you can use Microsoft office Sharepoint server or Forms server also.

Hey Charlie.

you may want to look at the Database Accelerator. It is a suite of Web
Services that allow you store and control your forms via a SQL database. In
my experience the biggest issue for SOPs is control and this would give you
the greatest control since you can leverage SQL's permissions and Active
Directory to have granular control.
