Standalone Access for Distribution

Muhammad

I have searched and searched for the ability to design an
Access database for public distribution, HOW ? I have a
database including queries, reports and forms. I'd like
to distribute it to users that do not have Access
installed. Also ported for Pocket PC and other platforms
utilizing Microsoft operating systems. There has to be a
way. HELP ....

You need Office Developer Edition. This includes the Access run-time, which
may be distributed with your app.

And thus the search begins. Is the runtime available for
2000 and XP or which version specific ? I fugure if it
runs under 98 it will work under everything else.

IIRC, you need at least Win98_SE to run OfficeXP.

May I respectfully disagree.
http://www.microsoft.com/office/evaluation/sysreqs.asp states
For all Office XP suites:
RAM requirements depend on the operating system used:
Windows 98, or Windows 98 Second Edition
24 MB of RAM plus an additional 8 MB of RAM for each Office program
(such as Microsoft Word) running simultaneously

Ok, ok, the RAM requirements are ridiculous but that does mention Win
98.
